List of products by supplier: AARNIO - EERO AARNIO
Eero Aarnio was one of the pioneers in using plastic in industrial design. Plastic material set the designers free to create every shape and use every colour they wanted. This gave birth to objects oscillating between function and fun - but always fascinating ones.
Born in Helsinki, Finland, Eero Aarnio Studied at the Institute of Industrial Arts, Helsinki, graduating in 1957. He established his own design office in 1962 and has worked as an interior and industrial designer though he's best known for his innovative space-age plastic chairs, such as the bubble (or globe) chair and the Pastille chair, for which he won a AID (American Industrial Design-Award) design award in 1968. Also in 1968 Aarnio designed the Bubble Chair, made from acrylic and chromed steel.
