Nuovo Milano was designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1987 to extend the ranges of cutlery that Alessi were producing (which at that time was the DRY Range by Achille Castiglioni - which has a very square and masculine form).

Nuovo Milano is a classic cutlery style - with a modern twist. The handles have rounded chunky forms, and are very well balanced, a distinct sign of their excellent quality, which probably only becomes truly evident when touched and held. Then it's no surprise that this is Alessi's BEST SELLING Range of cutlery. They offer excellent value for money.

LCD01 Caccia Cutlery RangeLCD01 Caccia Cutlery Range - Alessi, - Tablewares & Cutlery

Gio Ponti designed the basic pieces of this range way back in 1938, and presented them at the Milan Triennale Exhibition in 1940. In its day, the set was a masterly example of how craftsmanship was stretching out a hand to the industrial future of housewares. As such, the Alessi Caccia Cutlery model can be seen as a milestone in the history of cutlery design. Its shapes are soft and rounded, yet elegant and slender, a wonderful play on the thickness of the pieces.Alessi began making this cutlery in 1990 in co-operation with Luigi Caccia Dominioni - fifty years after the original basic pieces had appeared, he designed the missing items to create a complete set.

Colour Bavero ChinaColour Bavero China - Alessi, - Tablewares & Cutlery

An affordable range of simple, sophisticated tableware from Alessi. Such has been the success of the original Bavero range - Achille Castiglioni decided to add a decorated version. The addition of a Blue finish applied to the rims of the original items is both subtle and elegant .

The original white range and this coloured range lend themselves well to being mixed together.

Rundes Modell Cutlery 1906Rundes Modell Cutlery 1906 - Alessi, - Tablewares & Cutlery

Rundes Modell Cutlery was originally designed by Josef Hoffmann in 1906 for the Wiener Werkstaette and presented for the first time to the public at the exhibition entitled 'The Laid Table' in Vienna. This cutlery was produced by hand in Silver until 1912. The service is now reproduced in stainless steel by Alessi under licence.

With such a modern style it is hard to believe that it was designed almost a century ago, yet the knives, forks and spoons reflect the search for functionality combined with extreme elegance.
