LCD01 Caccia Cutlery Range 

Alessi, - Tablewares & Cutlery 

Gio Ponti designed the basic pieces of this range way back in 1938, and presented them at the Milan Triennale Exhibition in 1940. In its day, the set was a masterly example of how craftsmanship was stretching out a hand to the industrial future of housewares. As such, the Alessi Caccia Cutlery model can be seen as a milestone in the history of cutlery design. Its shapes are soft and rounded, yet elegant and slender, a wonderful play on the thickness of the pieces. Alessi began making this cutlery in 1990 in co-operation with Luigi Caccia Dominioni - fifty years after the original basic pieces had appeared, he designed the missing pieces to create a complete set.

The original forks were designed with just three prongs - in keeping with the elongated elegant shapes of the whole range, but they were thought by some too unusual !!! - so Alessi added a four pronged version as an option to this range. 4 Pronged Forks MUST be specified as special options, we do not stock them - as we can't really imagine why anyone would want them?

Alessi Cutlery is a very comprehensive range of items and there are a number of ways in which we can supply it : The boxed single place setting of six items are ideal if you want to start off with a few pieces - and add to the set as you go along -it means that you have full place settings of cutlery that you can use straight away - rather than just having 6 knives & six forks! (This is the way that I bought my cutlery - 2 sets at a time - then later I began to add extra pieces such as Dessert Spoons and of course Servers not to mention the rather fab, ice cream spoons !

Available as a boxed single place setting of 6 pieces for one person that includes one of each of the following : Table Knife, Table Fork, Table Spoon (for Soup or Dessert), Dessert Knife, Dessert Fork, Tea Spoon.

*Please note that all CACCIA Cutlery sets are supplied with TEA Spoons and not coffee spoons , as with all other Alessi Cutlery Sets.

Complete Services are also available (they do come gift boxed but please note that this packaging is of card construction & is not a Canteen as such.)
