Rundes Modell Cutlery was originally designed by Josef Hoffmann in 1906 for the Wiener Werkstaette and presented for the first time to the public at the exhibition entitled 'The Laid Table' in Vienna. This cutlery was produced by hand in Silver until 1912. The service is now reproduced in stainless steel by Alessi under licence of the WW.

With such a modern style it is hard to believe that it was designed almost a century ago, yet the knives, forks and spoons reflect the search for functionality combined with extreme elegance, and the sophisticated processing of the materials that was typical of the WW, yet at that time some contemporaries raised doubts about the practical design of some of the items - those who actually use them rebutted these accusations.
