Aldo Rossi an Architect by profession began his collaboration with Alessi back in 1980, with the Classic Eighties Design icon La Conica Espresso Coffee Maker. His geometric sytle is instantly recognisable through all of his subsequent designs

Rossi was popular with the Alessi technical engineers who's job it was to manufacture the objects, as unlike many of the other designers, Rossi would produce his drawings and say ' you know far better than I how to make it' and his strong ideas still resisted the modifications of the technical department with out affecting aesthetic identity.
