PANTON - Verner Panton

Verner Panton trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen, and initially worked in Arne Jacobsen's architectural practice. He established his own design office in 1955 and is credited with the design of the very first single-form injection moulded plastic chair - the stacking chair 'Panton' designed by him in 1960. He was a prolific designer of furniture, textiles and lighting as well as exhibitions and interiors.
