MORRISON - Jasper Morrison

This surprisingly modest designer brings innovation to everyday objects. Dedicated to continuous improvements, he has both the subtlety and sensitivity that never fail to please.
Jasper Morrison was born in London in 1959 and graduated in Design at Kingston Polytechnic Design School, London and at The Royal College of Art for Post Graduated studies. In 1984 he studied at Berlin’s HdK on a scholarship. In 1986 he set up an Office for Design in London. Jasper Morrison - Office for Design designs for many companies, among which are Alessi, Alias, Cappellini, Colombo Design, Flos, FSB, Hannoversche Verkehrsbetrieb (Bus Stop and Expo 2000 Tram, Mabeg & Co., Magis, Rosenthal, SCP, Sony and Vitra.
He has received numerous awards, among which several IF Awards and Design Plus Awards, a selection for Italys Compasso D’Oro and, in 1992, three awards for a series of door handles designed for FSB. Some of his works are in the permanent collections of several museums, including the New York MOMA, where the chair 'Lima' (produced by Cappellini) is displayed.

Glo-Ball Ceiling : C1 + C2 - Flos, *Glo-Ball Range
These Glo-Ball Ceiling Lights by Jasper Morrison are availabe in two sizes : C1 - Small and C2 - Large. They fit up to the ceiling with the aid of a ceiling fixture that you wire into the electric supply, then fit the glass shade. We recommend that you also fit dimmer switches for these lights to make he most of the lighting effects that they can create - from a subtle, warm glow to the freshest, bright white light.

Minimalism is orientated towards finding the ultimate essence of what an object is, stripping it of stylistic connotations that are too obvious or too historical.The design of the Candlestick Family demonstrates this well : its form evokes the corolla of a flower at the base and at the neck of the candlesticks. At the neck an open corolla collects the molten wax, while at the base an overturned corolla can hold matches.

Luxmaster Floor Lamp - Flos
Luxmaster Floor Standing light designed by Jasper Morrison for Flos, and it is also about to spawn a family of wall and ceiling lights which will make it quite a comprehensive range for use in both domestic and commercial applications.
