ARAD - Ron Arad
ARAD - Ron Arad Ron Arad born in Tel Aviv, Israel 1951, studied at the Jerusalem Academy of Art, 1971 to 1973. Later, he studied at the Architecture Association, London, graduating in 1979. In 1981, he founded his own architectural design office-showroom 'One Off Ltd' in Covent Garden, London.
Ron Arad is primarily known for his early metal furniture designs in the shape of sumptuous armchairs. He has designed the Bookworm bookshelf and FPE chair for Kartell, Tom Vac Chairs for Vitra, Glass furniture for Fiam, Upholstered Sofas for Moroso and more recently the Baby Boop dishes for Alessi .

These absolutely gorgeous containers/serving dishes were designed by Ron Arad for Alessi in 2000. Called Baby Boops they are perfect for dips and nibbles - think olives and nuts or pistachios in one side - empty shells in the other!

Great to look at - even better to use. Ultimately Utilitarian. Manufactured in Stainless Steel, these dishes can even be washed in the dishwasher.
With a stylish combination of satin hollows and polished rims, they also feature a neat dimple in the base - which means that the dish fits comfortably in the hand when holding and offering.....'Cheesy puff, madam!'
