RASULO - Prospero RasuloRASULO - Prospero Rasulo
Prospero Rasulo, an Italian born Artist and Designer who divides his time between promoting cultural activities with exhibitions and designing and working in advertising. In 1987 he founded 'Studio Oxidio' a Gallery of Art, Design and Architecture. Our site features only one piece of his work, a personal favourite of ours - the QUA light for Foscarini.

Paolo Rizzatto was born in 1941 in Milan. He took his degree in Architecture in I965 at the Milan Polytechnic.*In his studio he works as a freelancer in the field of architecture, design and interior design and continues to develop his experience as interior lighting designer.*In 1978 founded Luceplan together with Riccardo Sarfatti.*He has designed for Arteluce, Artemide, Luceplan, Alias, Cassina, Nemo, Molteni, Knoll, Kartell, Philips, Montina, Thonet and Guzzini.

*Projects by him presented at Seminars or Exhibitions of architecture and design, are included in the permanent collections of numerous Foundations and Museums: Architectural Associations in London, Milan Triennale, Wave Hill Museum Centre in New York, Museum of Modern Art in New York, Victoria and Albert Museum in London,*He has been awarded numerous prizes, some of which are: *Three 'Compasso d'oro' Prizes in 1981,1989, 1995 *Industrie Forum Design Prize/Hannover 1996 *Swiatlo'99 / Varsavia 1999 *'Good Design' Award Chicago Athenaeum Museum/ Chicago 1999

SAARINEN - Eero SaarinenSAARINEN - Eero Saarinen
Eero Saarinen was the son of the celebrated Finnish architect and first President of the Cranbrook Academy of Art, Eliel Saarinen. Born in Helsinki, Finland, he emigrated with his family to the United States in 1923. Initially he studied sculpture in Paris and later architecture at Yale, graduating in 1934. On his return he took up a teaching position at the Cranbrook Academy of Art. In 1937 he began collaborating with Charles Eames which resulted in a series of highly progressive and prize winning furniture designs for the Museum of Modern Art's 1940' Organic Design in Home Furnishings' Competition. He went on to design furniture for Knoll International. His greatest architectural project was the remarkable John F Kennedy Airport, New York.
