La Cupola - Alessi, * coffee club
Alessi La Cupola Espresso Coffee Maker was designed by Aldo Rossi in 1985. This espresso maker is made of cast aluminium with a polyamide handle. The boiler has a thick flanged aluminium base to guarantee even heat distribution and shield the body from the flame or heat source.

Gianni Storage Jars - Alessi, - A di Alessi
Alessi Gianni - A little man holding on tight to the lid of these fun and functional storage jars / containers.
A Huge Favourite in the Alessi range - these canisters are useful for almost everything - from storing sugar to spaghetti (via tea, coffee, rice and pasta). Great Storage jars that have an efficient seal.
There are four sizes of container to choose from, they are different heights but the diameter is the same - please bear in mind that the man inside does take up a little space - so you won't be filling them right up to the top - There are four choices of lid colour - and the lids are interchangeable, so you can swop them around if you like!

Sarria - Alessi, *
Lluis Clotet designed this beautiful Sarria basket as a development of the 'Foix Tray' that he designed for Alessi in 1994.
Clotet was originally inspired by the crumpled effect of a silver paper tray for Foix - but chose a crumpled felt hat for the inspiration for this Sarria basket - which has been cleverly adapted to be produced in highly polished Stainless Steel : which has the advantage of making this product functional (as a fruit bowl or as a bread basket) as it is captivating.

Classic Wire Bowl - Alessi, *Design Classic
First produced by Alessi in 1951. This Classic wire basket has been selling strong ever since.

Looks just as fabulous empty as it does full - but it is definitely designed to be used, because it is stainless steel (not chrome or silver plated) it is easy to wash and clean.

These two jugs for wine and water are Mario Botta's first housewares for Alessi. Reminisant of his architectural work they are very elegant whilst remaining practical.

Lilliput - Salt & Pepper dispensers on holder - Alessi, - A di Alessi
The Alessi Lilliput are Salt & Pepper creatures with magnetic feet, that enables them to stick to the base or handle of their holder.

This is one of the first pieces that Stefano Giovannoni designed for Alessi back in 1993. Lilliput are highly original but possibly not so practical, as the table does tend to get sprinkled with salt and pepper - However, Lilliput is still a perennial favourite in the Alessi gift range!!

Press Filter - Cafetiere - - Michael Graves Range, Alessi, * coffee club
Michael Graves designed this coffee maker for Alessi in 1988, as a development to his famous Bird Kettle! He drew inspiration from a method of making coffee that was very popular in Northern Europe & America, but actually originated in Italy in the 1920's: The Press Filter.

And....did you know...... this type of Press Filter is also great for making TEA!!!

Sugar Bowl and Creamer - - Michael Graves Range, Alessi
The Alessi Michael Graves Sugar Bowl and Cream Jug were designed by Graves in 1988 following the huge success of the Bird Tea Kettle. The Sugar Bowl comes complete with lid and small spoon. While the Creamer can of course be used for milk or cream.
As we have already suggested the Graves Press Filter Cafetiere is fantastic for making tea as well as coffee - so this jug and sugar bowl can complete a set for tea lovers as well as coffee drinkers.

Pito Kettle - Alessi, *Design Classic
Alessi Pito Kettle designed by Frank Gehry.

At first this object looks more like a sculpture than a kettle - an unusual Hob Kettle that combines a stainless steel body with a mahogany wood handle and melodic stopper.

Much of Frank Gehry's work derives its inspiration from fish forms & you can easily see that fascination in this kettle - the sculptural form of the handle and stopper have a quality that almost makes you believe that you can see the fish flapping and splashing around!
